A new group classification was published in 2007:

Group 1 Galaxy Group:
single flowered, flower diameter greater than 16 cm, petals overlapping by more than 50% and elliptical, oval, ovate or reversed ovoid in shape. Usually the plane formed by the spread petals is parallel to the stem of the inflorescence.

Group 2 Diamond Group:
single flowered, flower diameter 12 to 16 cm, petals overlapping by more than 50% and elliptical, oval, ovate or reversed ovoid in shape.

Group 3 Colibri Group:
single flowered, flower diameter less than 12 cm, petals overlapping by more than 50% and elliptical, oval, ovate or reversed ovoid in shape.

Group 4 Double Galaxy Group:
double-flowered, flower diameter larger than 16 cm, petals overlapping by more than 50%.

Group 5 Double Diamond Group:
double flowered, flower diameter 12 to 16 cm, petals overlapping by more than 50%.

Group 6 Double Colibri Group:
double-flowered, flower diameter less than 12 cm, petals overlapping by more than 50%.

Group 7 Spider Group:
single flowered, any flower diameter, petals hardly or not at all overlapping and lanceolate or linear in shape, pistil and stamens protruding from the flower and forming an integral part of the ornamental value, the length and width of the inner three petals are in the ratio of approximately 12:1.

Group 8 Butterfly Group:
single flowered, any flower diameter, petals overlapping by less than 50% and narrowly elliptical in shape with at least three ovoid to inverted ovoid petals, pistil and stamens about the same length as the petals, the length and width of the inner three petals are in the ratio of about 8:1 or smaller. Usually, the plane formed by the spread petals makes an angle of about 60 degrees with the vertical axis of the stem of the inflorescence.

Group 9 Trumpet Group:
single flowered, any flower diameter, long trumpet shaped flower.
